It's been a long time coming but the slightly cooler WX this morning was 
conducive to climbing up on the roof and working on this again.  Since my
last 
message I've also purchased a new starting relay and starting capacitor just
in 
case my original diagnosis was wrong.  But it wasn't; a new run cap solved
the 
problem.  It's nice to win one once in awhile.
