I have a different security product and don't use Windows Defender, so I
have no problems with any WSJT-X and JTAlert updates.  Those who do have
to identify both the software modules and their folder to Defender as
being OK.  Apparently there is some Defender profile list that if
updated once will solve the problem permanently.  If this isn't done
there will be problems each time either of these two software programs
are updated.  Some people have had to repeat the one-time security pass
over and over again for each update.  Others have taken the
permanent-update route and never have to repeat the process.

This has been an ongoing issue in the DXLab interest group among those
who haven't taken the permanent solution.  If you're interested you can
peruse the ongoing conversations at the DXLab site in groups dot io.
There's a lot of conversations to sift through, but using the site's
"search" feature will identify the right threads pretty quickly.
There's a lot of talk about how to properly set up DXLab, WSJT-X and
JTAlert with respect to Windows Defender.  The solution that's described
over there applies to any piece of software that's being installed or
updated.
