Mike,
Thanks. I briefly used JTAlert on my Win 7 pro laptop that I've just retired as
the shack computer. I've rearranged the desk in my cramped closet/shack and
acquired a SFF Win10 Pro machine (used) and now have two monitors. So I thought
to at least have the capability to run FT8, although as you know it's not my
favorite. I do have N3FJP's suite of programs, although they aren't my favorite
either; I'm still partial to the antique DXBase.
I have several things running that all need the serial port so I use LPBridge to
share the port. FT8 is really bossy about needing to be top dog on the port,
but I think I've finally got it tamed by using Omnirig. Messy but it can be
made to work. We'll see how the introduction of JTAlert affects things.
