[SADXA] 40 meter daytime DX NOW

Jerry and Wes,

Jerry is reporting at 11:15am that 40m DX is being heard from the NW such as
JAs and BAs. I would like to remind all, that Tucson Solar Noon on 11/24 is
12:10pm. This is similar in time to the TUCSON KO7Ss Graphic 40m DX path I
showed during the 11/21 meeting.

If I am doing my Math correctly, Jerry's 40m DAY DX report is [SN-55 min.]
This was actually one of my goals, for someone real time to actually hear
near SN DX on 40m.

Someone is likely to also report soon 40m DX toward the EASTERLY direction @
SN+55min or less.

I believe we are currently entering into (and out of) the E-Layer region
about this time (11:15am - 1:05pm) with higher D Absorption and E layer
reflection. This effect will keep diminishing each day, as the terminator
continues to decrease toward the US border till Dec. 21st, and push this
undesired "bubble" region further south.

I think if we all keep at it, there will likely be many 40m SOLAR NOON
Confirmations [within 1 hour of Solar Noon], between now and the end of the
December. 40m DAY DX can, IN FACT, get better than this -- NOW!!

Jerry, the SP flutter may be a clue as to why the LP to EU prevails
initially after SR. Their may be polar absorption effects during December
Solstice. This would kill SP DARK and even Gray-line propagation. The
flutter could also be due to interaction between the two active paths at
your receiving point. Anyway, this is a very good observation, for future
study with the solar archives.

GOOD DAYTIME 40m DX = GOOD NIGHTIME 40m DX, when the OVERALL 40m PATH
includes a DAYTIME DX PATH!!

I just fired up today my 3 ele 42 foot 40m Yagi @ 60 feet for study and use.

I would hate to be the first to work 40m Solar NOON DX. Highly Suspicious --
No one would believe me!!! Hi Hi

So someone --> PLEASE BEAT ME TO IT!!

EXCITING TIMES on 40m!! It is all over in a few months.

73's
Bill W7EXG

Hi Wes:
Great weekend to work some new ones.
I was just listening to 40 to the NW and JAs and BAs still coming in but are
way down from earlier this morning.
It has been a good run here. Terry is here and is giving it his all. So far
has worked 910 Qs with 37 zones. Just cannot catch a 40, 22 or 34 zone.
Heard a 40 very briefly but could not hook him. Terry has worked 123
countries also.
Prop has been quite interesting when the band is open to where. We heard
earlier this morning SP to EU at the same time as LP but the SP sigs had
auroral flutter on them. LP to middle east and EU has been good but to catch
the ones we really wanted has been hard like the 7Z and 9K2 guys.
So we will try again this afternoon an see what we can ad to. It hard to
find any new ones now.
How have you done in the hunt?
Jerry
