Ted, you repeated the link that I posted just above your post.

I can't speak about Flex as I don't, and would never own one.  The K3S is still 
a fine radio and mine is paid for.  I would entertain another radio just for 
bigger size and better ergonomics.  The bothersome thing about the IC-7610, 
TS-890 and now the FTDX-101d is the TFT displays.  Icom has had to replace a ton 
of them and then replace the replacements  Yaesu warns about dead and always on 
pixels and unevenness of color or brightness and claims these issues are not 
product defects.  So get a bad one and you're SOL.
