Fellow members of the SADXA,
I would announce my interest as a candidate for President for the SADXA. Although I am relatively new to the area, and a member of SADXA for just a few months now, I have been an avid DXer for most of my 58 years as a licensed amateur radio operator. Although I am not a paper chaser, I have accumulated 335 DX entity confirmations, all of which are on CW and, most of which were worked with only simple fixed wire antennas. If there is a pile up for a band slot I need and I can copy the station, you will find me in the pile trying to work It!

In addition, I have had many years experience in leadership positions of amateur radio clubs. I am a past President of the Rochester Amateur Radio Association (RARA) in Rochester, NY, and for the prior ten of twelve years before my move to Tucson, I was President of the Radio Club of Redmond (RCR) in Redmond, Washington.

I retired and moved to Tucson early last summer after a lengthy 47 year career in the Emergency Communications Field. For most of those years I was the director of large, regional, 9-1-1 communications centers around the country. After that I spent five years directing the statewide program to enhance interoperable emergency communications between and among public safety, local government and other agencies in Washington State and across the borders with adjoining states and our Canadian public safety partners.

Since moving to Tucson I have very much enjoyed my membership in the SADXA and the members of the club. I very much look forward to the opportunity of helping to lead the club in the future.

Thanks for letting me get on the soap box.
