Hi Larry,
I think this qualifies as 40m DAY DX, since after SR!! Hi Hi
You may have noted that W6XI and I (W7EXG) have heard and worked SN 40m DX
with EU stations. Typically heard and worked EU was from about 1900z to
2020z. In fact, W6XI holds the record for a SN+2min DX QSO and also the most
number of SN DX QSOs in the SN window.
Since all of these CW contacts were weak signal QSOs, I was thinking that
the FT8 mode would easily exceed SN CW contacts due to improved signal/noise
capability.
But, so far, no one is reporting any 40m SN DX in the SN window of +/- 1 Hr.
FT8 should blow CW away as far as 40m SN DX -- as advertised.
Apparently this is not happening. My guess is that no one is trying 40m SN
DX using FT8.
Wes (N7WS) said it best -- Not use to getting on 40m at SN for DX!!
My comment is now is the time, if your going to try.
