Some of you may not have received the attachment through our list provider
so I have added the document in text, below.
SADXA 2019 Club Member DX Challenge
Purpose: To encourage all SADXA members, regardless of skill level or
station capability, to get on the air and work DX during the second half of
2019.
Objective: Work as many distinct DX entities as possible from July 1 -
December 30, 2019, within a declared "designated class". Contacts can be on
any band but will count only once, regardless of the number of band slots
that you work that country in with in the Class of entry.
Awards: All participants will receive a "Certificate of Participation" from
SADXA. Winners within each designated class will receive a "SADXA 2019 DX
Achievement Award" (TBD).
Classes of operation:
SSB High Power (500w or more)
SSB Medium Power (Greater than 200w, but less than 500w)
SSB Low Power (less than 200w)
CW High Power (500w or more)
CW Medium Power (Greater than 200w, but less than 500w)
CW Low Power (200w or less)
QRP - Mixed Mode (10w or less)
Digital High Power (Except for FT8, greater than 100w)
Digital Low Power (Except for FT8, 100w or less)
FT8 (All power levels)
Mixed Award (All modes, any power level, excludes any WSJT-X digital
contacts (FT8, FT4, JT65, etc.)
*Note - each member can submit all scores, but is eligible to receive an
Achievement Award for the most countries worked in only one declared class
of operation. However, certificates will be issued to all members submitting
scores in every class of their DX operation for the second half of 2019.
Score Submission: All members are encouraged to provide monthly update
reports during the "around the table" at SADXA monthly meetings. Final
scores for 2019 must be submitted to the club secretary no later than the
third Thursday of January. Honor system submission. Awards are expected to
be issued at a subsequent 2020 SADXA meeting.
***We will see how this goes in the second half of 2019, and with your input
at the end of the year, will be open to "fine tuning" the rules for any
successor event in 2020.
Notes:
1. We want to encourage you to get on the air and work DX. The thought is
that the award incentive and the number of distinct classes of operation
will encourage participation at all levels of our membership.
2. The large number of class entries opens up more participation incentive
for our member's diverse operating practices and station advantages and
disadvantages.
3. Limiting SADXA "Achievement Award" certificate to only one for an
achieving member opens the award process up to more members.
4. We would like to see this be an annual event for the club and are really
open to suggestions for "fine tuning" the rules going forward, as long as
the objectives can still be met.
5. Monthly reporting of member progress (by class) will help other members
determine where to target their own operating.

Subject: Final Push for the SADXA DX Challenge
Dear SADXA Members,
We are getting towards the end of the year and there is still time for you
(despite the poor band conditions) to make a push for those last few DX
countries in your log for this year. Attached is information on the
challenge for your review so you can be thinking about which class you may
choose to enter. Remember, the final count is based on the number of DX
countries worked regardless of band. We will ask for your declaration in
January and will award certificates after the final counts have been
submitted for each class. You may declare only in a single chosen class of
entry. Good hunting in the final days that are left in the challenge!
Hope to see you at the SADXA meeting on the 19th.
Alan - AC2K
