40m SOLAR NOON DX CHASE - DEC 13th

It all started at 1800z listening for 40m DX and monitoring CW skimmer
stations.

BELOW WB6BEE spotted OK2RZ on 7014.5 at 1848z, or 29 min before our SN.

[WB6BEE is about 400 miles NNE of TUCSON].

REPORT: WB6BEE OK2RZ 7014.5 CW CQ 6 dB 26 wpm 1848z 13 Dec

I quickly tuned down to the 7015 kHz range, and heard instead LZ1EV at about
2000z having many quick QSOs with US stations. [SN+43 min.]

I reported LZ1EV on the SADXA Reflector at the time.

A SIDE 40m SN NOTE:

With Yagi at about 25 deg, I heard a very strong station working US stations
at 1840z, at about 28wpm. I never heard a CQ - only exchanges. I know this
sounds crazy, but I could not determine the DX station call, and I can
typically copy 30-35 wpm. There was NEVER a DE. If a call was given, it was
merged with last letters of previous stations call. What I heard repeated
the most was RR72X - not a valid call.
I think the Station was Russian, and after the US station replied, the
Russian station said R and R72X - RR72X - which does not exist.

I will listen again tomorrow.
