15 meters had some openings during today's contest. The station in Uruguay got away from me but I was able to get Argentina. I kept spotchecking 10 but I must not have tuned in at the right time.
In looking at last year's logs, I wasn't doing as well last April as I am now. Maybe the bands are coming back? Maybe I've gotten smarter as to when to be on?
My gut feel: the DX opportunities are there. Go get 'em!

For those who are interested in Propagation, foEs is 4.3 MHz at 1745z, at
the Austin Vertical RF Sounding vs Frequency Site.
Since the M factor is about 6 for the Es Layer for most 10m take off angles,
this put the EsMUF = [M x foEs] at about 26 MHz. Close enough, as foEs is a
big variable with time, and we are 800 mi from this site. foEs can change
dramatically over a 20 min. window and over a relatively small distance.
foEs is the critical frequency (Vertical RF sounding) due to the vertical
reflection from the Sporadic E Layer Es.
Es is high enough now for 10m opening.
A very strong beacon K5GJR/B is now on 28223 kHz.
There is absolutely NO ONE ON SSB. That part to band must be DEAD!! Hi Hi
Hope we have a summer of fun on 10m.
