I maintain a paper log as well as an electronic one for just this
reason. I've lost several thousand contest QSOs over the years because
of media failure or loss, vendor software design screwups, or my own
procedural sloppiness. My hybrid logging process does introduce the
possibility of transcription errors, but at least there is more
"permanent" documentation to which I can refer.
