Jerry and Ray,
I was looking at the Solar Indices for 6/13 UTC at 1600-1700Z, during your
6m activity.
Date / SFI /SunSp/A/ Kp / K Bold /Xray CMX/Optical SCOR ER
20160613
91
27
9
34222121
35222221
1 0 0
1 0 0 0 0
Solar Flux was 91
A index was 9
Kp index was 1
AND there were both X-ray (C=1) and Optical(S=1) Flares
I am suspecting these Flare occurrences, were raising the incoming Flux
numbers to short term high levels during the 6m events. The flares were not
causing Proton geomagnetic disturbance at the time, and thus the Absorption
was low with a Kp of 1 for 1700Z. I am trying to track down what the peak
Flux numbers may have been due to these flares, during 6m activity. I do
believe the Xray and Optical Flares were the contributing factor to what, I
assume everyone suspects, was Sporadic E Propagation.
Flare Activity, with low K / A numbers, might be one of the key up-coming
sporadic E indicators. At least for 6/13 at about 1600Z, that seems to be
the case.
6m activity reported by DX Clusters vs Solar Indices at that specific time
might be an interesting study. Maybe already done?
73s,
Bill W7EXG

I sure understand that. I have worked those guys also in the past. Its
amazing what a few miles will do to 6 meters. I noticed in the contest
this weekend stuff TOM, NQ7R worked I could not hear and he is about 50
miles straight line from me. Not surprising you are not hearing EU
today. But it can shift in a hurry so keep listening. The beacons are
back up again in midwest and were gone for a while. This could go on all
day like it did for the east coat the weekend.
