Who knows.
They got out okay, that's what is most important. The gear is replaceable. The
logs aren't however, so hopefully they got away with those that weren't already
uploaded to Clublog. I worked them at 1800Z, the news flash was 2220Z.
I'm reminded that many years ago, my brother was with a Tucson friend and
another group from Texan hunting for Dall Sheep on the north slope of the Brooks
Range in Alaska. They had been flown in by a bush pilot and dropped for a week
or so. A storm hit and they were stranded for a couple of weeks with dwindling
foodstuffs, although the Texans had a good stock of bourbon.
Finally, after wondering whether the pilot had crashed either going or coming,
they heard the airplane. The guy dove down through a hole in the clouds, taxied
up and said, "Get in!", They said, "We'll get our stuff." He said, "Forget
your stuff, get in now."
