Hi Dick,
 
I'm not participating in the DXCC Challenge so am neutral on the  issue.  
However:
 
>From what I can see, the 3K level is virtually impossible from AZ except  
for those who were active on 6 meters during previous sunspot cycles.   Talk 
about rewarding longevity!
 
In addition, even though I'm a 160-meter guy, including 160 in the  
Challensge greatly favors Europe and the east coast.
 
So, whether top down or bottom up, JFK was right: life IS unfair.
