Well done, Bill. If you've made an inquiry about what bands and modes
are confirmed for you in their log, you'll become known to their
server. Then if you're still logged on when you make a QSO, you'll get
a popup box that says "Congratulations W7EXG. You've just made a QSO
with VK0EK". That's a neat enhancement that I haven't seen before.
By the way, propagation to Heard Is. has been good enough for a lot of
club members to break through on several bands. I've been monitoring
the various frequencies and heard VK0EK's side of the QSO with several
calls that are familiar to me from SADXA and CADXA. There should be a
lot of smiling faces this evening, and I'm among them. I finally got a
phone QSO, which was my main operating objective this week. Now I
intend to be on 40 and 80 meters early tomorrow morning to try my luck
there.
