[SADXA] Band noise

Before I give Trico too much grief I have a question.  Yesterday (Monday) my 
noise level on 20 meters was S9 in most directions and S9+20 toward Europe. 
(3KHz BW, AM detection)

I walked the area (1/4 mile square) and could hear noise everywhere on my 
handheld Sony ICF-SW7600 on all of the HF bands.  There was a peak at a pole (in 
the direction of EU from me) where I noted a leaking transformer.  Nothing 
seemed intermittent but laying my hand on a guy wire increased the noise, 
something not heard on any other pole I sniffed.

Of course, today when I can contact the power company the noise is S5, which is 
normal here.  So my question is, did anyone else notice high noise yesterday?
