To all on the SADXA reflector....
This really sounds like what happened to CADXA when we
hosted the ARRL Southwestern Division Convention back in
2004..............Remember, that the convention was held at
the Wildhorse Pass Resort.........which happened to be on the
Indian Reservation.....The day before we opened the doors,
we had a visit from the Reservation "Tax Collector". We
tried to tell them that 75% of Vendors there were showing
their product only.......no sales on site. Didn't matter.
We ended-up writing a check for nearly $1000.00 to the
Reservation............Conclusion....Never to go back to the
Wildhorse Pass again......

(I was the Chair for that Convention...a lot of fun otherwise)

I agree with you. This could really impact the success of the hamfest.
The city would be wise to do as you say and no one would be very unhappy
about it.
You are right about the golden goose. These tax folks are all the same.
Folks may just wait a month and to to Scottsdale and be just fine.
