I just picked up a YAESU VL-1000 and that means my other Amps
must go to make room on the desk.
1) AMERITRON AL-1200 (pre-MFJ Model with a 3CX1200A7)
I bought it new in 1990 and it's been the main Amp since. Still
works to spec with the original tube in it. I have only used it on
160 and 80 for the last 10 years (except when the VU4 was on
CW !! Last of 2 needed on CW).
The only problem I have had was the Step-Start Resistor (10 ohm
10 watt) opened up. Replaced it with a 20 watt one and it has not
had any other problems.
Asking $1,750, pick-up only in Vail, AZ
2) Brand New Spare EIMAC 3CX1200A7
I bought this for a spare when I bought the AL-1200. The box was
opened to record the Serial Number, but it has never been plugged
in.
Richardson in Texas is quoting $1,900 for these.
Asking $900, sold only with the AL-1200 or after the AL-1200 has
been sold.
3) Heath SB-220, converted to 6 Meters
I based this conversion on the QST article of a few years ago, with
some variances of my own. This Amp is stable at all power input
levels. I can get a max output of 1,100 Watts, Key Down. I tried for
more but the 10 Amp breakers in the back popped. Besides, you really
don't want to abuse that puny Heath Plate Xfmr. I normally run it at
800 Watts out.
Included with the SB-220 is a Bird 43 Wattmeter with PEP Board
installed. The Line Element is mounted on the rear and the Meter
Cable allows it to be placed around the operating position.
Asking $900, again pick-up in Vail, AZ
3) Brand New Spare 3-500Z's
I have two sets of RF Parts 3-500Z's. One set is a Matched Pair.
They will be sold with the converted SB-220 or after the Amp is sold.
Asking $300 for the matched pair and $250 for the non-matched pair.
First dibbs to Club Members before I list it elsewhere.
