[SADXA] EMI Team

I have been following the message thread. The big issue with power line and
other EMI is having equipment that will allow you to determine the noise
source. I have a problem with a noise source to the south that appears to be
a 1 kHz spike. The filters in my receivers distort the waveform, but Gary's
receiver showed the true waveform. He was out here twice and found a few
problems with power pole grounding, but never did find the source of the 1
kHz pulses. Luckily, my tri-bander is pointed mostly north.
If we had a way to borrow or otherwise have the use of the needed receivers,
antennas, and other equipment, it would be easier to find the problems. The
equipment also needs to be mobile. I am looking at buying a spectrum
analyzer for general purpose RF work, and that may help with locating EMI.
We should probably get together first, then start amassing the needed
equipment.

We deal with everything.? Hams bothering others and others bothering the
hams.? Carl has done a great job.
We do have contacts in industry all over the state and country.
In several cases we brough folks in from out of state?as well as?the ARRL to
help out.? I think the last big one was?the BPL mess.
?
I don't know if Carl is even aware of that problem. I have copied him on
this email.
