[SADXA] Please listen for a 30 m beacon

Tom:
I often hear this nuisance beacon, amid JA and other Asia DX operations
in our mornings. There is also some 'experimental radio range' beacon, as in
aircraft radio range, on about 126, operated by a couple of USA pilots.
Instead of low power like the HP1, which is bothersome enough, this one
purportedly runs 100w. One would think, after 2 years operation, their
'experiment' would have been concluded. There is some other use for it, I am
sure.
The operators claim it is 'monitored' so it can be shut off if it QRM's
normal Amateur traffic, but I believe from observation that
that claim is a sham.
Not sure who 'authorizes' beacons by IARU Region, but the 126 beacon has
long created QRM to normal QSOs, and at 100w is a real
source of QRM, expecially at greyline times.
There is enough 'normal' DX, traffic, and ragchew activity on 30m that
covers the HP1, sometimes. But other times it covers the DX.
The 126 'experimental' beacon is a huge QRM generator.
Parhaps you would let us know what your research turns up.
Jim, KF7E
