I have 2 706Mk2G and use the FL-232 (350Hz) with great results. I
rarely do digital, but with the FL-101 you cannot really accomodate RTTY or
packet. I mostly use it for CW in my mobile, and have found the 232 to be as
good as the 101. Perhaps less loss. But I also use it for working the ISS on
packet.
I have over 260 DXCC and all 40 zones with my 706, most of that on
CW. You might look for a deal on the FL-232, since they are
not as sought after.
