W7YS, ex-W9ACG, W4JUY and W7GAF, Bill Schuchman, passed away in  late
December in Flagstaff, Arizona, at the age of about 88.  A ham  for
over 70 years, Bill was the last living charter member of the  PVRC,
Potomac Valley Radio Club.  Bill was also a charter member of  the
Northern Arizona DX Association, and a member of the Arizona  Outlaws
Contest Club.  He was first licensed in 1940 at the age of 17 in  Ft.
Wayne, Indiana.  During World War II he served in the  Pentagon’s
Communications Center.  He remained active in his later  years,
despite failing health.  Services are tentatively set for January  6
at Lozano’s Mortuary.  He had 348 DXCC entities and operated  from
several other countries.
