Hello to all,
   Jerry, you hit the nail on the head "He has to be  going crazy not doing any operating.",  I find it hard to see radios/antennas sitting there not being used, if I could I would be on 16/7 ( gotta get some 'old geezer' sleep), but as those of you that have been on expeditions know we have to share!  Ben (YJ0ABP/DJ0YI/N6MUF) and I worked out pretty well in sharing when we were by ourselves, but with intermod and 6 other blokes (well one is a blokess) it cuts down our operating.  Plus it seems most of the others are not driven to operate as I am.
  Plus some of us decided to make an appearance in the Oceana SSB contest but Ben and I got the 40/15 assignment and found it hard to make many QSO's, I think our station contributed only about 160 contacts.  Ben is not a SSB guy so hopefully we should be more active for the CW contest.
  We don't really have any gain antennas so if you hear/work us you can be assured your RX station is doing well.  When it was/will be Ben and I we use only two antennas: my 30 m delta loop and Ben has some sort of loop antenna he got in Germany that supposedly can work 40-10.  For what it is it seems to work reasonably well.  I really hated to leave the great 10m pile-up we had on the 30th but had to have a team meeting.  We have had a few fantastic openings with wall-to-wall stations calling for up to 5 kHz  so for me it is usually a case of picking up partial calls and going from there.  The JA's have been their usual courteous group for the most part,  Europe, well what can I say that hasn't been already.
   The one big disappointment for me is the digital operation, right now for me there won't be one.  I got everything set up at home all working great, then get here and for some reason Ben's K3 will not do digital the way mine did.  I am going to try emailing Elecraft and see if they can suggest what might be wrong.  There is a configuration setting on Ben's radio that I don't recall ever seeing on mine.  When setting up the 'mic+Lin' his radio says "not appl".  The end result is I can key the radio but no RF comes out (or very little).
   To end this have to send a WX report.  I see triple digits for AZ until late in the week so I don't miss that.  As Hank can attest, it is very humid here and uncomfortable in the afternoon but not bad at night.  Had a nice shower this AM otherwise very nice weather.
  Thanks to all who called and I hope I haven't missed any of you in the pile-ups.  Hopefully with the contest done we can get the CW flowing more this week.  Special thank to K7WP for the phone call.
