[SADXA] YUMA Report

Lightning took out power for the first two hours on Saturday but they had
generators running in a few minutes.

The people showed up and it was pretty packed on Saturday. There were no
overflys on Sat except one private jet from New Mexico which brought 8 people to
the hamfest.  Most of the tailgaters wound up under the ramadas during the
rain.  I never got over there we had quite the line.

ICOM did not ship their stuff in, some sort of shipping error.  Joe from HRO was
sick and Jose fell off the truck while packing it so HRO did not make it.  That
happens.

Well over 300 people enjoyed dinner on Saturday night and over 30 door prizes
were given out.

I'll know how many showed up in a week or so but it was well over 300 for sure.

Jerry, did you tell everyone the good news?

Ditto to Dicks comments.

As we watched the Harriers go by yesterday we knew when some of them came in
at about 50 Knots, all the thrust was down on us, and it sounded like it.
The noise from the FA-18s didn't hold a candle to the Harriers, noise wise.

It was disappointing as there were so few sellers with stuff someone would
want to buy. We had high hopes of Saturday being better but when we got up
this morning, those thoughts were dashed by the sound of thunder and the
heavy pitter patter of rain at times.

We didn't even stop as we passed the fairground headed for Tucson. And as
Dick mentioned it was a bit dicey with the dust across the Interstates in
places. A couple of times the big rigs just disappeared right in front of
us. I did notice, on the news tonight,  the Highway Patrol closed I-10 for a
while after we went through around Picacho some place.

Not sure there will be a next year however.

Jerry
