Subject: KL1YY special event this weekend

Hello Jim & the CADXA:

Marvin Baur, KL1YY, a long time member of the Northern
Arizona DX Association has organized a special event being
held this weekend in Homer, Alaska. He and his XYL, Sharon,
KA7ZOZ, live in Arizona during the winter months and in Homer
during the summers.
They do some volunteer work at the Alaska Maritime National
Wildlife Refuge Visitors center in Homer and have teamed up
with the center to celebrate National Wildlife Refuge week. They will
set up 3 stations and operate from the Visitors center, starting today.
Marvin has rounded up a number of AK Hams to come in from surrounding
AK areas and help out with the event.

As you know, the National Wildlife Refuge organization has become
a great resource for Hams. Working with them has made it possible
for many of us to go on DXpeditions to some of the remote islands
they control.
So, we need your help! To make this a successful event, they need
lots of contacts. Please turn your beams to the north(NNW) and
give them a call. The 3 stations will be using Marvins call so if you
do hear them, you could also help out with spotting them on the cluster.
Thanks for your help!

Bob, NF7E
ps: please pass this along to the CADXA members!!!
