Jerry,
What amplifier are you using? My old L-4B will "tune" my 80-meter dipole on the low end of the phone band without the trip out to the west forty to remove the dipole jumpers.
Besides the snakes, which aren't much of an issue in the cool mornings, I have to navigate a prickly pear patch, not something to do in the dark :-)
