Like many things in life, there was a plan to make changes, but it wasn't
yet executed...and the unexpected happened.
Bernie and Karen both were certainly acting in the best interests of the
club.  We were very fortunate to have them keeping the funds safe.
Bernie and I had a plan to formalize the club, obtain a separate tax i.d.
number, and move all club money into a separate bank account with multiple
signers.  We just hadn't done it yet.  In hindsight we should have done it
right away.
We will get the money, but settling estates takes time, and it would not be
appropriate to rush Bernie's sons on this.  I've talked to them about it and
everything will work out properly.
Meanwhile I have no objection to setting up a new account.  But until we
incorporate and obtain a club tax i.d. number (which takes time and some
money), the banks will not allow us to set up an independent club account.
(That's why the existing account was in Bernie's personal name, although
they did allow him to add the club name to the title).
Basically there's a little bit of groundwork to do, not too much just need
to find time to do it.

I can contribute also.  Doug could create a new account.  How about this 
time...have more than one person access the account...such as the President
