Gail and I met with Paula Cruz for two hours this morning at Central Arizona Credit union. We got a lot accomplished. 

1) We registered the name Southern Arizona DX association with the state as an organization. The paperwork from the state will be sent to Keith's business address.
2) We opened a General checking account. Both Gain and I can sign checks on this account. Other signatures can be added to the account, and if the bank is presented official meeting minutes authorizing another person to have access to the account, the bank can grant that access. The account exists for an entity, and does not have to be probated.
3) We deposited the funds into the account.

When the club is incorporated, we will change the tax ID number from my SSN to the club's tax ID number.

The group account that we opened is free checking as long as a minimum balance of $1500 is maintained. If we go below the minimum balance, then  $7.50 per month is charged against the account.
I loaned the club $50 so that the balance is above $1500. If you haven't paid up for this year, I'd like to collect your money. We're just over the wire on our free checking threshold.

Paula really went our of her way to help us on this, and she deserves a lot of thanks. Hopefully she will join us for some of the meetings to hear stories about new and exotic places !
