I don't know about Raytheon, but us Hughes guys did.
I became friends with the late George Badger, W6TC, then with Eimac, later Mr. Sevtlana, as we spent days in the lab together testing and dissecting problem Eimac tubes as used in the Phoenix missile.
When I taught ham radio classes, I used a 100TH to show the students the elements in a vacuum tube. No dissecting required.

For those who maybe have not had the experience of taking a tube apart and then understanding what all those parts are, and what they do, here is a great explanation.

I know, you Raytheon guys already know all about this :-)
I think it is a requirement to get a job there isnt it?
It was when I started there.
