The text of the obit follows:
Karen B. Sasek SASEK, Karen B., of Tucson, died suddenly on August 29, 2009 at home. Aged 70, she was the daughter of Mabel and Charles Lyon of Seward, NE who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Bernie Sasek, and two sons, Bill of Corona de Tucson, and Gregg of Tucson. Gregg and Le Ann have two adorable daughters; Charlotte and Hannah that will miss Grandma Karen. She is also survived by two brothers in Seward, NE; Pastor Rod Lyon and wife Ann, and Roger Lyon and wife Fran and their respective families. Karen had a calling card that stated: wife, mother, grandmother, friend, wannabee painter, needle worker, woodcarver, paper crafter, quilter and ham radio operator. After retiring from the University Medical Center, Karen spent many hours with friends involved in the above avocations. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions to her memory made to the U of A Cancer Center in Tucson. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on the 3rd of
October, 2009 at the Catalina United Methodist Church at 2700 E. Speedway, Tucson. A luncheon will follow.
