Here is some information regarding the April 4th hamfest that Randy, KF0X
asked me to pass along:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The RST Desert-Fest '09 Hamfest is almost upon us on Saturday, April 4th!
For all the details, vendor info, hotel and camping info and the like, go
to: www.tucsonhamfest.com

We are expecting a huge turnout if I may judge by the number of emails,
vendor inquiries and phone calls I have received.

PLEASE NOTE: A couple differences from past hamfests held at the same
venue:

1. I have arranged for two (2) port-a-potties (with hand sanitizer
dispensers) to be brought in the night before and placed extremely near the
hamfest area. In past years, you may have noticed what a long walk it is to
the bathrooms. This was particularly tough for elderly or disabled
attendees. It also made it difficult for those trying to man their tables
and keep an eye on their equipment. So, PROBLEM SOLVED!

2. I have arranged to borrow the A.R.C.A. golf cart for the weekend. I
just need to drive to Phoenix to pick it up which I will do next week. This
will help transport people needing assistance to and fro the parking areas
or for any other uses that may come up.

3. The food area will be well-marked with signage and will be located out
in middle area of the lot with all the vendors. This will make it much more
convenient for people to purchase donuts and coffee or water.

4. The signage will be expanded directing people into the venue. There
will be signage not only on Ajo way with an arrow pointing to the location,
but also another sign once you make that turn directing people to the
correct area.

5. We will have 3 GRAND PRIZES! We will be giving away 3, ICOM 2200H
radios. These are outstanding models and built like a tank. Thanks to ICOM
for giving RST a smoking deal on these!

Remember, if you wish to sell something... just show up EARLY and get ready
for the gates to open at 6:00AM.

Please email me with any questions, comments or suggestions. This is going
to be fun and I think we will have a well-organized and productive event!
