[SADXA] Six meter fun

Sorry to hear that about K7RST. I was working 10m for them (we made 573 10m
QSO's), and the 6m guys were right behind me, but I wasn't paying any
attention to what they were doing. I'll be sure to remind them that the
calling frequency should not be used that way, in hopes that it won't happen
again, but some operators certainly have a tendency to ignore calling
frequency protocol. If they were doing that on 6m, then it's likely that it
was the same story for the other high bands as well.
I must say that Field Day contacts are no where near as fulfilling as good
DX! Got home this afternoon and worked Senegal and St. Maarten on 20m, now
I feel better.

Keith KR7RK

I worked the second JA also. Yep the lids were out in full force. K7RST
was the worst. And the amazing thing was that they weren't hearing the
stuff calling them. I'm down here in the hole with a crappy antenna,
hearing people calling them and they aren't.

Wes:
Congratulations on the JA contact. It is exciting when that stuff happens.
That is the exciting thing about 6m. You just don't know what will come out
of the headsets at any given moment.
I noted yesterday a very large collection of LIDs calling endlessly on the
calling frequency. Unfortunately they were mostly clubs and it seemed no one
there had any idea what they were doing. That has been a chronic condition
locally with long QSOs going on, on the calling frequency.
Unfortunately I was away last night so couldn't take part in the opening.
Keep up the good work.

I can't help myself, I have to brag a bit.
While trying to work FD through the line noise on 20 I moved to 15 for while
and then thought I'd listen to six. Worked a few 6's that I'd been working
on 15 then tuned around a bit and heard JL8GFB CQing on 50.1235 CW under the
splatter from the lids calling CQ FD on the calling freq.
So I called him and worked him with my 40-80 meter wire dipole! As I write
from the room next to the shack I can hear JA7QVI CQing through the
headphones.
