Wes:

Congratulations on the JA contact. It is exciting when that stuff happens.
That is the exciting thing about 6m. You just don't know what will come out
of the headsets at any given moment.

I noted yesterday a very large collection of LIDs calling endlessly on the
calling frequency. Unfortunately they were mostly clubs and it seemed no one
there had any idea what they were doing. That has been a chronic condition
locally with long QSOs going on, on the calling frequency.

Unfortunately I was away last night so couldn't take part in the opening.

Keep up the good work.

I can't help myself, I have to brag a bit.

While trying to work FD through the line noise on 20 I moved to 15 for while
and then thought I'd listen to six. Worked a few 6's that I'd been working
on 15 then tuned around a bit and heard JL8GFB CQing on 50.1235 CW under the
splatter from the lids calling CQ FD on the calling freq.

So I called him and worked him with my 40-80 meter wire dipole! As I write
from the room next to the shack I can hear JA7QVI CQing through the
headphones.
