[SADXA] 6 meter opening to CA

Keith,

It might be the lack of a receive preamp as much or more than the antenna.
The RF amplifier stage in many HF rigs start to become marginal between 10
and 6m. However your 6M antenna is not in the same league as the 50' boom
length 6M antenna at a height of 136' that I saw at WA7CJO's QTH this past
Saturday. I don't remember how many elements but it was probably about 10
to 12.

How was the starparty this past weekend?

73's

Larry, W7LB

Guess I need a better 6m antenna Jerry, I just saw your cluster spot for HI,
both beacon and QSO, and I can't copy either.
I'll keep trying!
Keith

Nice opening today to Central Am and Western Carib. New country worked
today, 5J0BV on San Andres. Also band was open to most of west coast,
midwest and some East Coast.

Watch tonight for JAs also KH6 most any time.

Wes, we are at the peak of the 6m season and the band has been hot. Dont
miss a great opportunity. When the band is open it doesnt take much of an
antenna, a tribander will work just fine.

XE1AY CQing on 50.1 CW. My K3 only setup to receive at the moment, no high
current P/S, no key, and essentially no antenna.
