 A STATEWIDE (ARIZONA) CONTEST CLUB IS NOW FORMING!

NAME: Arizona Outlaws Contest Club (AOCC)

            (A Radiosport Association of Big Guns, Little Pistols and Cap Guns)

FOUNDERS and 2009-10 Board of Directors: Veteran contesters AB7E, K7WP, K8IA, KC7V and N7RQ

PURPOSE: To provide a full-featured, focused contest club, throughout the state of Arizona, for contesters of any level; further the exchange of information and cooperation between members; to promote radio knowledge, camaraderie, and individual operating efficiency; and to conduct club programs and activities with a focus on contesting. Contesting of all disciplines will be supported including DX, Domestic, VHF/UHF, etc. 

MEMBERSHIP:  AOCC will have open membership to all those wanting to contest and will provide opportunities for involvement, training, and recruitment of young hams as well as activities of interest to experienced contesters. No one will be turned away from AOCC, and new and would-be contesters will be encouraged to join. 

DUES: To be determined, based on expenses.  Likely in the $5-$10 range annually, at most. 

WHAT WE PLAN:

1. Regular meetings, rotated throughout the state. (Regional VP’s planned)

2. ARRL Club Affiliation. In fact, we are working on that now and have already informed our SW Division Director, fellow contester Dick Norton N6AA, of our intentions.

3. Informative programs and guest speakers with a focus on contesting.

4. A forum to exchange contest knowledge, along with on-the-air events.

5. A full-featured club website and email reflector.

6. Club Callsign (N7AT club name will change to Arizona Outlaws Contest Club) available for any member or group of members on a pre-arrangement basis with the Trustee.

7. Attempts will be made to organize multi-op efforts for prospective members without other access to a good station, or for prospective members who want to learn from more seasoned members.

WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW: A Constitution is being drafted and ARRL Club Affiliation paperwork is being prepared. It is our intention to be fully up and running by the Fall 2009 Contest Season.

Include your Call, Name, Address and whether or not you are an ARRL Member.  We strongly encourage ARRL membership, as they require at least 51% of our members to be ARRL members before Affiliation can become possible.
