[SADXA] LOTW progress

John:

I thought about this for a long time and then finally started into it many
months ago and was overwhelmed with the complexity of it all and never
followed through. I think it has been simplified since then as it seems much
simpler now than what I remember back when I first started into it.

I guess the key for me was when I went into eQSL and looked at how many
folks had requested QSLs from me, over 600. I thought Hmmmm, maybe I need
to fix that problem.

So I did sign up on eQSL and it is a much simpler process than LOTW to
upload the logs. I now have just about all my electronic logs uploaded to
eQSL.

Hopefully I will finish the LOTW process in the next day or two and upload
to that also.

I use Writelog as my logging software. Find the details of it at:
http://www.writelog.com/ You can order it online for $30 or you can send
for a CD for a few more $.

I like it because besides using it for all the contests, I could fashion my
own General Log, for everyday use when not contesting.

There is practically an endless list of Logging programs around, some you
pay for some you don't.

Another popular one is Logger32, and N1MM, both which are free and
downloadable from the web. I think Logger32 works good as a contest as well
as everyday logging program, but dont't hold me to that as I have never
really looked into it. N1MM is a contest only program that is very powerful
but also quite complicated, as I understand it. I have been told it takes a
while to figure it out. But then I guess one can say that about all of them.
Writelog took me quite a while to get it set up to my liking.

I would say at this point I don't know why I waited so long to get going
with electronic logging. I think it is great, even thought I only us a very
small part of the features electronic logging offers. Time will improve
that.

Good luck

Jerry
