Subject: [SADXA] WAS

I worked Katie in Wyoming, which gives me 50 states for WAS. I have 42 states on LOTW, and will need to use 8 paper cards to complete the award. Have 49 states on CW, and one state on Phone.

Who is the contact for checking cards ?

In other news, I woke up  early this morning, and turned on the radio. I wanted to hear Santa.  I checked propagation using Jerry's recommended program ve7cc, and called CQ in the DX window at 7.006 mhz. Heard from Latvia, Japan and Indonesia in about  5 minutes. The Latvia station spotted me, and I had a mini - pileup running at 4:00 AM. What a rush. Had to look on Google earth to figure out where Latvia is.

I guess it's time to start practicing the straight key !

Santa must be a ham, and has been very good to me this Xmas.

Merry Xmas to all, and best for next year.

Doug
