[RVRC] W2QW & NJ2AA BBQ & POTA : Update

[Jim Rosellli]

Thank you all for your patience.
We have rescheduled this to October 18th.
I have created a POTA account for NJ2AA.

POTA Account
NJ2AA at NJAA.ORG <mailto:NJ2AA at NJAA.ORG>

Our park designation is US-1633
Voorhees State Park
https://dep.nj.gov/parksandforests/state-park/voorhees-state-park/

We will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs.
Drinks, chips, etc., will also be available.
Also, we have a Keurig coffee maker too.

I have this set for 10am-4pm at the observatory on Sunday, October 18th.

I have never done an activation before, so I am looking for those who have to help train me.
I’m reading the ARRL POTA book and watching YouTube videos on the subject.
So hopefully, I won’t embarrass myself.

For the event, I will have my ICOM 7610 on battery power.
It’s connected to a 73’ end-fed half wave, 45’ above ground.
NJAA is 880’ above sea level.

I will also bring my ICOM 705 and its companion antenna tuner, which I will connect to a 100’ long wire.
So please reach out to me if you can help me with the POTA activities.

More details to follow.
