Hank,
Thank you for your email and for sharing your concerns regarding your membership status. I appreciate your long-standing commitment to the RVRC since 1999 and your active participation in our events, particularly during the Hamfest.
First, let me say that you were one of several members who did not renew by January 31st. You were not individually targeted, as this email was sent to several members with all the email addressees listed as BCC, thus giving the appearance that you were the sole recipient of the email.
(Renewal email reminder was sent on December 11, 2024, followed by an additional reminder on March 13, 2025, for those who did not renew as expected by Jan 31, 2025.)
Please be advised that we have, over the last several months, at our monthly meetings, discussed making changes to our membership process as well as revising our ByLaws. I highly recommend that you attend the monthly Zoom meetings to stay in touch with ongoing changes. The Zoom link is at the bottom of our w2qw.org home page.
Regarding the membership process, the Club instituted an online electronic renewal process, so when someone completes the renewal form, the President (N2GMA), Treasurer (KB2VRM), and Club Trustee (KD2VWT) are notified of the transaction immediately via email.
Additionally, the renewing member receives an immediate email confirmation of their payment and a copy of their renewal information as entered on the form. This process allows for payment by credit card (preferred method) or by check. If payment by check is selected on the form, you will be instructed where to mail the check. In all cases, we ask everyone to complete the online form so that we can revise our member database with the most up-to-date information.
Note that we have received your payment (thank you) and therefore, your "Regular" membership status is confirmed for 2025.
I hope this clears up any misunderstanding on the matter.
We look forward to seeing you at the HamFest.
