Hello to all my radio club friends!

Here's the link to the largest virtual hamfest ever! I'm volunteering to be
a moderator on Sunday morning.

https://www.qsotodayhamexpo.com/

( www dot qsotodayhamexpo dot com )

There are over 20,000 folks registered already (it's free to register). I
don't know how many total vendors are there, but folks like ICOM, RT
Systems, Flexradio Systems, Elecraft, etc., are major vendors on the
platform. There are many (75?) speaker/sessions on the agenda, which you
can download on the site and print (PDF). I would attach one but I know it
will get stripped off by the groups emailer system.

Check out the "leaderboard" concept, especially if you're one of those
competitive folks! There will be prizes based on your participation,
rather than a boring old raffle! LOL

If you're like me, and you're curious about how the chefs made the stew,
here is a link to the YouTube video Eric produced that gives you a look at
the exhibit space concept as well as the backend workbench that vendors
will use to create their virtual booths.

If the links I've put in my email don't go through, that's OK because you
can just go to the expo website and navigate on your own.

BTW, the first "event" is the keynote address in the virtual auditorium and
that takes place this Friday evening. This:

*Keynote: COVID-19: Amateur Radio’s Impact On Problem Solving To Create A
Global Response To The Pandemic - Dr. Scott Wright, K0MD*
UTC: 8/8/2020 1:00:00 PDT: 8/7/2020 18:00:00 EDT: 8/7/2020 21:00:00

If you miss any of the talks, etc., and want to check it anything out
later, the platform will be available for 30 days. You only need a browser
(most will work). There are no plugins required.

BTW, Eric is the creator/producer of the QSO Today podcasts that come out
weekly. Several NJ hams have been guests on the interview format including
yours truly.

FYI, I have no pecuniary interest in this venture -- it is strictly my view
that many hams (and non-hams) will benefit from participating in the event
-- the talks are really plentiful and the topics look extremely
interesting. If you have any questions about the event, there is a
"Contact Us" form on the website.

Stay safe. Be well! See you at the Expo!

73,
