Members,
This is an urgent request.
We have, as you must already know, obtained the permission to locate our 2
meter repeater on one of the best sites in Central New Jersey.
I have already given my opinion and we have already solicited comments and
concerns. We have satisfied all of the concerns and I have seen
overwhelming (unanimous) positive responses.
But now in order to proceed we MUST submit a letter of intent to the
party(ies) responsible for the process.
The cost to the club to make this move will be under $10K. but we need a
vote according to our By Laws.
We can't wait longer because of the sensitivity of this move..if we delay it
will be assumed we are insincere with this project.
I propose that, since we have had a representative number of positive
messages...unless there are a majority of NAY votes with this message, the
President of the club authorize the technical committee to proceed and a
letter then
Be composed for submittal.
I propose for this purpose that the President name the technical committee
chairman and that the chairman submit the necessary letter.
Again, we can not delay to the next meeting and then a further delay to
submit a letter.
The letter needs only to confirm that RVRC desires and accepts the
requirements of the tower operator(s) to locate one two-meter repeater of
commercial manufacture and with a maximum of 50 Watts at this tower location
(Warren).
Any NAY votes should be posted now so that RVRC can proceed immediately.
We have been waiting a long time to have an opportunity like this one. We
will again have a towering 2 meter repeater signal and service area.
I have been working with someone on another great location for our 442.250
repeater inasmuch as we will NOT be able to locate it on this same site with
the 2 meter repeater. (conflict of spectrum use)
Sincerely,
Marv, K2VHW
P.S. Should anyone have missed the particulars on this project, please send
a message on this service and we can thereby keep all discussion open to
everyone.
