[RVRC] potential loss of 2 meters from amateur radio

This is certainly a very early stage and not necessarily a conclusive
action. But it is very much a sample of what amateur radio has to deal with
on all allocations.

Remember that the saying “use it or lose it” is very much at the forefront
of any amateur radio allocations.

I wish to make a plea to all

. We must fight this together. We have
nearly ¾ of one million licensed radio amateurs in America alone and we now
have a majority in

The TECHNICIAN class where 2 meters is a highly active band. I believe that
the internet and the interconnection using 70 cm and DMR/digital has had a
negative side regarding this issue.

As those who have proposed reassigning 2 meters (144 ~ 146 MHz) to
aeronautical use believe that amateur radio licensees are not utilizing 2
meters adequately and therefore see this as

An opportunity.

Here’s what YOU CAN DO to begin with. PLEASE, make a contribution to the
ARRL SPECTRUM DEFENSE FUND. (I do and have done so every year.) The ARRL is
OUR VOICE and will have

A place at the ITU conferences where these decisions take place.

You can simply write a check to ARRL and note for SPECTRUM DEFENSE FUND.
This will help support the presence of ARRL representatives to the
conferences. (plus it demonstrates to the

Conference attendees how much we value our spectrum allocations.

Thanks,

Marv
