[RVRC] Two meter jamming

Hey guys, over the last couple of years RVRC and ETS have become sister clubs.

So - if the W2YQ is in “deep sleep” mode use K2ETS.

We are all sort of an extended family.

   Hello


   The situation regarding the constant jamming of our two meter repeater is getting outta hand. Its a persistent attack from the crew in Brooklyn that the FCC refuses to do anything about.I have cantacted the FCC office in NY to have them put an end to the jamming for a long time & it simply falls on deaf ears.

    To combat this malady, The Two meter repeater would be put in sleep mode until such time the jamming stops. This would be an inconvenience to anyone accessing our repeater but at it stands right now,it would not be all day that this would be done.


    This would be only a short term fix until the FCC gets their act together& goes after this group,if ever.


      What sleep mode is is that the repeater ignores all inbound RF traffic but still makes announcements. Turning off the repeater disables all DTMF access rendering the repeater useless.


      So,trying to be proactive in combating this.Maybe this would be a deterrent & let's hope it is.Last time I checked,this is ham radio,not 11 meters!
