Hey Pete,

That's not the problem with our rapidly declining membership. We have
basically 2 almost brand new Icom repeaters that we purchased to
implement asterisk to the club. We have been in a downward free fall
since the purchase that depleted our treasury. Hopefully we learned a
lesson. This offer of up to 2 repeaters for $500 each is tempting to
someone and I bet someone is going to recommend the purchase. We seem to
continually want to spend money before we have the money.

I think we are on the right path by introducing technical programs of
interest to the membership and ones that hopefully will attract new
members. Couple that with participation in activities that keeps ham
radio in the public eye are always good. However keeping up with the
Jones is not a priority at least to me.

Just my $0.02.

73,
Drew, W2OU
