Hello.

Last week, The Amateur Radio Parity Act of 2015 was formally introduced
as a bi-partisan bill sponsored once again by Congressman Kinzinger
(R-IL) and co-sponsored by Congressman Courtney (D-CT).  The bill is
the same bill as HR-4969, which we were able to get introduced late in
the 113th Congressional session.  Our intensive efforts gathered 69
co-sponsors before the session ended, more than twice the number we
were looking for.

Given the fact that we got off to a very late start, we knew that
we’d be back this year at the start of the 114th Congress.  The bill
dropped with 12 original co-sponsors, and last week I was in Washington
talking to staffers and Representatives that had co-sponsored the bill
last year to rejoin the effort this time around.

Our meetings were fruitful, and we expect to pick up support from a
number of those we saw.  I was on the Hill when we learned of the
dropping of the bill, HR-1301.

Our success last year was effective due to the large grassroots efforts
locally in the Congressional Districts.  We will need to do the same
this year as we garner support in the House and look for a companion
bill to be introduced in the Senate.  Our effort has already begun.  I
will once again be looking for members who have access to their
Congressional representatives and to their U.S. Senators.  And we will
shortly begin the same letter writing campaign that proved so
successful when we approached members in their Washington offices.

To remind you, HR-1301 is a bill that directs the FCC to extend the
same rights to “reasonable accommodation” to hams living in
communities where land use is determined by municipal zoning boards to
all types of land use including deed restricted communities with
CC&Rs.

Our individual grassroots effort is highly important for the success of

I know many of you do not involve yourselves in politics, but I ask
that you take a few minutes and contact your representative via the
above information.  Politicians do listen to their constituents, and
will ONLY listen to their constituents.  Please be part of our
grassroots effort! 

Also, please look into further supporting the cause by making a
donation to the ARRL Legislative Issues Advocacy Fund.  Monies raised
by this fund will help to offset the cost of spending time in
Washington seeking support for this most important legislation.  You
