Hi all

The technical committee tested earlier this week to determine the best options for talk in usage on the club 2 meter and 440 machines.  We will run with open input on the 2 meter machine (PL off) and the normal input PL 141.3 on the 440 machine.  The 2 meter and 440 machines will be linked to allow the talk in team to use one or the other frequency / machine to catch any calls without having to having to use multiple radios.

The other advantage of running with 2 meter open is that some club members with computer programmed HT gear (Motorola etc.) will be able to use their HT with the 2 Meter repeater even if they have not yet reprogrammed the PL to 241.8.  These same folks may have a similar challenge with the change to the Simplex Frequency, so at least they will be able to relay through the repeater if there is no other option.
