Ladies and gentlemen,

 

My name is José F. Lugo Jr., KD2CJP.  I am deeply saddened to announce the
sudden passing of my father, José F. Lugo Vélez, KO2J at the age of 77.

 

A ham radio operator since about 1976, he is survived by his wife Brunilda,
his four children and his five grandchildren.  A proud Veteran of the United
States Army, he served with the H&S Company of the 656th Engineer Battalion
in West Germany in 1957.  Most recently, he was a devoted teacher and
administrator at the Perth Amboy Board of Education, in Perth Amboy, New
Jersey.

 

Visiting hours will take place on Friday, 20 February between 3 and 7 pm at
Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, 399 Avenel Street, Avenel, NJ 07001, telephone
(732) 636-2275.  A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning, 21
February at Saint Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, 244 Avenel Street, Avenel,
New Jersey.  Additional ceremonies, military honors and internment will take
place in his home town of Guayanilla, Puerto Rico.
