Members,

Mike Terruso, WA4LOQ, who gave an excellent presentation on High Altitude
Ballooning at February ETSNJ meeting has established two tentative launch
dates. One is on June 26th and the other on Aug, 17, 2015. He is looking for
hams to help track the payload on those dates using dl-fl-digi software.
This will be a very interesting set of projects when they roll out. I've
posted two links above for those that are interested in how amateur radio
can be used in HAB events.

Mike intends to keep us informed in the tracking program and information
going forward. If interested please contact Mike Terruso,WA4LOQ at
wa4loq at outlook.com for more information and to volunteer to help in any way
possible.

73,
Drew, W2OU

Hello Drew. Weather is getting better. Launch is scheduled for Saturday
June 27th. Location has yet to be determined as it is dependent on weather.
I will be updating the website over the next few days with scheduling.
he'll be posting instructions on how to install the special version of
dl-fldigi to download the telemetry and also scheduling two test launch
dates. This is so operators can get used to tuning in and ensuring the
telemetry can be heard. The challenge there is getting the payload in a
location high enough where it can be received by everyone.

It's a long ways away but I will also be scheduling a launch for August 17,
2017 which is the date of the next total solar eclipse in North America.
This is one that will be meticulously planned. Photos from this should be
really impressive.

The Rasp Pi is certainly fascinating. So many applications. I actually
have 3 of them. One I will be creating a weather station which will upload
real time telemetry to my website. That's a summer project of mine. I am
also trying to use them to control home automation such as opening and
closing garage doors using your mobile devices. The possibilities are
endless.

Mike
