Try listening to the transmissions from the ISS even if you do not have the software to decode the video image, you'll be surprised at how strong the signal is from space to your hand-held radio!
Remember that you will hear the 'digital' modulation and not voice.
(Over passes can be obtained on-line at AMSAT.org)
**UPDATE** April 7
ARISS Russia coordinator has stated that the event will operate on April 12 as well during the same 10:00-21:30 UTC time frame.
**UPDATE** April 9
The Russian crew plan for the weekend has been updated and if I am reading it properly, SSTV will setup starting at 10:00 UTC on April 11 with control checks at 21:30 on April 11 and 08:45 UTC on April 12 then shutdown at 21:30 UTC on April 12. That will provide about 35 hours of continuous operation

Amateur Radio on the International Space Station ARISS has announced that slow-scan television (SSTV) transmissions are planned for Cosmonautics Day, Saturday, April 11 from RS0ISS in the ISS Russian sector.
Cosmonautics Day celebrates space pioneer Yuri Gagarin’s April 12, 1961, as the first human to reach space.
The SSTV event will get under way at on April 11, 1000 UTC on 145.800 MHZ and continue until 2130 UTC. All transmissions will use SSTV mode PD180. If similar to prior SSTV events, 12 different photos will be sent through the weekend with 3 minute off periods between transmissions.
Receiving the SSTV images requires a 2 meter receiver/transceiver and a PC to convert the audio to an image. Software such as MMSSTV is available free on the Internet. Received images may be uploaded and viewed at the ARISS IMAGE GALERY.
Unanticipated events on board the ISS may cause any scheduled ham radio event to be postponed or cancelled. Check the ARISS FACEBOOK PAGE for updates
