Here is a very good forum given by Ed Hare, W1RFI, of the ARRL lab on RFI from power-line devices.  It is 60 minutes from start to finish with the first 12 minutes as an interview at the Raleigh, NC hamfest.  
It is very informative about power line noise from power line devices and with information about how ARRL lab works with industry and FCC in tracking-down/fixing issues.

It is very well worthwhile spending the time to view this forum.
